What Gets Selected
Any photographs or negatives will be considered. Obviously higher quality photographs
are to be prefered over poor quality ones. If there is only one existing print
of something then that print has to be used. If more than one exists, then the
photograph having the best composition will be selected.
Sending in Photographs
Any size photograph may be used. They may be black and white or color. The larger
and clearer the photograph, the better the results will be. Some computer enhancement
of damaged photographs is possible.
Unfortunately, this cuts both ways. Some loss of detail in really good pictures
is inevitable. The resolution of the best computer monitors at this time falls quite a bit
short of what is possible with really good photography. Also, it is necessary
to hold the resolution down or the pictures will load
so slowly that it would become very frustrating to page through them.
Sending in Negatives
Any size negative may be used. The larger and better condition the negative,
the better the results will be. Modern software can make photographic positives
directly from old black and white negatives easily. It is not necessary,
or desirable, to obtain new prints. Some computer enhancement of damaged
negatives is also possible.
Stories and History
Stories and historical accounts related to family affairs would be welcome.
Even if you don't have any pictures of the event(s) in question someone else
may.
Newsletters
If you want to start a family newsletter this
would be a very good place for it.
Other Ideas
Any other ideas that you might have will be entertained. This is a new
